Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergey Vershinin, received by the Order of Malta delegation in Rome

On July 27-28, 2021 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Vershinin, was received by an Order of Malta delegation led by Amb. Stefano Ronca, Secretary General for Foreign Affairs in Rome.

During the High-level meeting, the parties exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, discussed the main aspects of bilateral interaction, the migration phenomenon, alongside with international issues, focusing on existing and emerging threats to international peace and security, their counteraction and regional settlement.

Particular attention was paid to interreligious dialogue, the issues of the residence of Christians in the places of their traditional settlement in the states of the Middle East and the Order of Malta’s possible participation in the “World Conference on Intercultural and Interfaith Dialogue: Working together for peace and humanity” to be held in May 2022.

Representative of the Sovereign Order of Malta to RF, Aimone di Savoia Aosta, Representative of the Russian Federation to the Order of Malta, Alexander Avdeev and the Secretary of the Holy See for relations with states, P. Gallagher,  took part in the preparatory Meeting for the UN Food Systems Summit.
